Hi Jaleen, I really enjoyed your talk--thank you! I was really interested hearing you talk about how Canadian magazines worked to distinguish themselves from American ones in an attempt to gain market share--that was so illuminating for me!
Thank you Nissa! Being Not American was a Canadian cultural sector obsession throughout the 20th century; several good reasons for that. The irony of course is that Canadians liked American things, so the Canadian producers ended up looking nonetheless rather... American.
