Tony Quinn is a journalist who set up the magazine website Magforum.com in 2001. It builds on material he had developed running the printing degree and the School of Publishing at West Herts College in Watford, and as group editor at BBC Magazines and Redwood Publishing. His books include A History of British Magazine Design (2016) for the Victoria & Albert Museum and the section 'Magazines since 1914' in The Cambridge history of the Book in Britain (vol 7; CUP, 2019)
His research interests are based around the history of magazines and include: managerial strategies during industrial disputes; the use of magazines by political, social and artistic movements; and magazine design. He maintains a database of his library of about 5,000 magazines and an even more extensive picture library of magazine covers and pages.
